It’s been awhile since I’ve linked up with Gussy Sews
for Inspiration Workshop! This weeks prompt: Favorite Recipe!
I’ve posted a few of my favorite recipes before…
Click here for my favorite one dish meal
and here for my favorite fall recipes!
I thought for this weeks prompt, I’d share one of my favorite meals
to grill out. It’s not exactly grilling season,
but we snuck this meal in one last time this week on one of our beautiful fall days!
**And I completely failed to get pictures for this post–sorry friends!**
My family calls this scrumptious meal:
Aunt Talley’s Durkee’s Chicken
{this is my mom’s version of this recipe which I think is a little different than the original!}
What you’ll need:
1 cup Durkee’s Mustard
(I can’t find this at out walmart, but I do find it at our local Publix)
1 1/2 cups water
1 Tablespoon Worchestershire
Dash of Garlic Salt
Juice of 3 lemons
1/2 stick butter
1 Tablespoon of yellow mustard
Here’s what to do:
Let all ingredients simmer while you brown the chicken on the grill.
Be sure to put one of the squeezed lemon halves in with the sauce.
When chicken is almost done, dunk each piece in sauce and grill till done.
To serve:
Immerse chicken in sauce and allow the chicken to sit in the sauce.
Serve with crusty rolls for dipping.
And my take:
Serve over yellow rice!
Yum!
Now go fire up those grills while there’s still a little bit of sunshine!
